Red Root Collaborative is a Maine-based consulting practice founded by Melissa Persico — a one-woman operation powered by over twenty years of hands-on experience in local food systems. Red Root works at the intersection of supply chain logistics, institutional procurement, farm business development, and food policy to help move more local food — with purpose and efficiency.
Melissa didn't come up through academia. She came up through the grind: opening high-end restaurants across the country, navigating wholesale distribution, building a startup food processing company, and managing complex institutional partnerships across New England. That real-world experience is what Red Root brings to every engagement.
